Yering Station 2008 Chardonnay

Hailing from the Yarra Valley in Victoria, Yering Station is known as the first vineyard established in 1838 the Valley, and indeed in Victoria. This is one of those Chardonnays that will remind you why still love this versatile grape. It has elegance & a texture like smooth silk along its tight & taut long length.  Although already 3 years old, this wine is still fresh with plenty of life left so it has the potential for cellaring for a few more years.

There is plenty of soft citrus freshness almost dipping to stonefruit ripeness complimented with just a hint of caramel nuttiness. While it has seen some oak maturation, less than 10% has seen new French oak while the rest has spent time in seasoned oak – just enough to give that nuttiness & suppleness.  A stylishly modern Chardonnay that will pair nicely with a grilled chicken salad with or without all the trimmings.
