Tyrrells Brokenback Shiraz 2007

tyrrellsbrokenbackTyrrell’s home vineyard and cellar door is located at the base of the Brokenback Mountains in the Hunter Valley – hence the name.  Brokenback Shiraz is for anyone who loves their Shiraz to be medium bodied but with rich fruit.  This vintage of Brokenback has loads of pepper and traditional blackberry but has also some attractive gamey savoury notes to nicely counter the sweet ripe fruit which lingers on the finish.

A very nice example of a Hunter Shiraz that will continue to surprise in the cellar. At the moment, the 2006 is the current vintage that can be found in bottle shops with this wine available to Private Bin members as I found out when I wanted to buy to commemorate a special occasion. If you are lucky enough to be a Tyrrells Private Bin Member – snap it up before it becomes widely available.
