Tscharke Girl Talk Albarino 2008

This is the last vintage to be labelled as Albarino (as the varietal has since been identified as Savagnin) and shows refreshing citrus character and after 5 months on lees, some creaminess on the palate.  The fragrant nose starts like someone has just squeezed a sliver of lime peel in the air but is soon joined by some elder, stonefruit, spice and limestone.  It is a textural wine with refreshing acid, full body and lingering length.  The flavours are of creamy peaches making this a lovely drinking wine that has plenty of food friendly character.
