Support cancer patients, Go Dry This July
I hope that everyone is having a great night tonight if you have signed up for Dry July. Make sure that you open something special now and treat yourself to something mega special (and not necessarily something alcoholic!) for all your effort on the 1st August.
For those who have notheard about Dry July – there are those who are abstaining from alcohol for the month of July and their friends support them by a) sponsoring them with donations that benefit the lives of adults living with cancer and b) not opening your best bottle of wine in front of them when they are committed Dry Julyers!
‘Dry July is about clearing your head and making a difference. Get healthy, challenge yourself, encourage positive change and a healthy attitude to alcohol consumption ‘ says the website.
If this does not convince you to join then the press release goes just that one step further: WHY GO DRY IN JULY… OTHER THAN RAISING MONEY FOR A WORTHY CAUSE? • Save money • Lose weight • No hangovers – do more with your weekend • Start that wine cellar • Better sex! (After ‘raising money’ I am sure that you cannot get better reasons than these, they have pretty well covered it.)
I will be pledging my support to my friends who have participating, even though I cannot promise not to bring out my best bottle on my birthday this month.
