Rymill 2005 MC2

MC2 stands for Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc and is a food friendly wine with a definite savoury personality. The aromas are of blackberry, blackcurrant and pepper mintiness. The flavours are of more savoury characters with some toasty blackberry fruit. But the wine is also very textural with grippy but fine tannins, full body and balanced acid and alcohol. Before the final blend has been chosen, the winemaker, Sandrine, takes home the wine to test with dinner. Ahhh! The sacrifices you have to make in the name of work!
