Running with Bulls 2010 Vermentino

Vermentino is going to be the hot varietal to be in your glass this Summer. A Mediterranean grape from Sardinia, its close French neighbour Corsica and other regions in Italy that has found a welcome home here. The Running with Bulls label is one from the Yalumba stable or should I say stud. It is not surprising to see newcomer Vermentino in the line up, considering the innovative nature of the Hill Smith family. The family have been instrumental in pioneering Viognier in Australia – just one of the feathers in their hat.
This Vermentino has a silkiness with a crispness with some great street appeal. The nutty peach & pear character is complemented by a fresh citrusy zing & a long fine finish. With its refreshing acid hit it is a natural companion to food, particularly with fish & seafood.
