Rolling Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre 2012

Rolling Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre

Part of Cumulus’ Rolling brand, designating it as being sourced from the Central Ranges of New South Wales as the Climbing brand is solely sourced from the higher slopes of Orange. The funky labels have a nattily dressed lady on a bicycle zipping, or should I say rolling, by.  The rolling wines tend to be well priced under $20 but you may find them discounted for less occasionally, even down to sub $15.

Although the Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc Semillon seem to be easier to find, it is worth persisting to find this wine this summer.  A juicy blend of 48% grenache, 40% shiraz and 12% mourvedre, it is a concentrated cherry and spice classic. Richly dense without oak and kept fresh with a fresh line of acid, this is a more-ishly good candidate for the fridge this summer. Enjoy with food or without.
