Oakridge The Parish Shiraz 2008

Oakridge has been collecting some gongs lately, and well deserved they are too, for creating rich elegant wines from the Yarra’s cooler climes.
The Parish has deep darkly concentrated black cherry fruit with some cinnamon & vanilla oak and cool climate mint topped off with some blackberry jam. It is supple & fine, gliding lingeringly along the palate to finish with sweet fruit. A wine that makes me immediately think of Wild Boar sausages with good old mash potatoes or a Sunday roast.
