Martin Codax Burgans Albarino 2011

If you have not yet discovered Albarino from its native Spain, you will do well to start here.  I doubt that you forget it from the eye catching label but I have always been taught that it is what is inside that counts. Here the texture and flavours will leave you wanting another sip – and all for change for a $20 note.

Aromas of orange blossom, white peach, lychee with a smoky mineral edge spill from the glass. There is satisfying fruit weight combined with a taut balance that is well modulated along the length. There is some fine spicy floral notes on the palate that finishes dry with sweetly ripe fruit. Enjoy with goats cheese tart and a crisp salad but don’t overchill it.
