Grant Burge Adelaide Hills Kraft Sauvignon Blanc 2009

GB Kraft bottleSomething for the Savvy B drinkers or just for anyone looking for a softly drinking white.  It is a nice gesture that the name of the growers – the Kraft family from Tanunda in the Barossa – are celebrated on the label.  With a portion being grown in the cool fresh climate of the Adelaide Hills and the rest coming from Barossa means that this is a ripe SB but it still retains the grassy palate typical of cool regions.  The light passionfruit and ripe melon characters are soft and round in the mouth while still retaining that crisp acidity for which SB is famous.  It is a wine that you could drink with or without food, but drink it now while it is still fresh and crisp.
