A smooth & softly drinking Clare red with no sharp edges. There is some delicious minty blackcurrant & liquorice character that is satisfyingly ripe & juicy. A good wine with food. One that lasts & lasts along the Tarantella’s long length. A great treat for kicking back at the end of the week. A good food style that will work well with a gourmet beef pot pie with grilled veges. Date: 17th July 2010 Price: $15 Value: $$$ Drink: Now – 5 [...] It has a rich purple ruby colour with typical Merlot blackcurrant character but with additional some pretty spice and floral notes. Being a Merlot, it has naturally softer tannins so it is a smooth fizz that is great as an aperitif or to have with food – even if you are someone who loves [...] If you are after a pleasant mid week quaffer which has the softness to truly qualify as an easy drinker, this is your wine. The wine has abundant sweet smoky oak and ripe plummy blackfruit character. It would be a great match for bangers & mash with loads of caramelled onions. A perfect wine [...] This is a wine that brings to mind Roast Beef & Yorkshire Puds. The nose is fragrant plums, spicy mulberry with just a hint of sweet vanilla with some additional nuttiness coming through on the palate. The fruit is intense, sweet and fragrant and is deliciously backed up by enough savouriness to keep [...] An intense wine with dark berries, plums and savoury characters. This wine could do with a couple of more years to soften the grippy tannins, but is a good food wine now and would be nice with cheese.
