Not a club exactly, but a site that specialises in giving you advice for organising your office drinks or that special occasion – corporate or personal. There are pages full of tips and advice plus a blog with heaps of wine reviews to help you make your wine choices or if you need to make a decision in a hurry use the handy ‘Quick Lists’. The reviews may be of the same wines as www.winemuse.com.au but are cut down versions. To save you time, I have complied lists of wine suggestions to suit different occasions. Please feel free to leave comments and to email me directly for advice, too.

At last! First week of school is finally over, roll on second week. I think that we all need at least a glass to celebrate!
White: Knappstein Three 10/11 $22
Red: Taylors Promised Land Merlot
Treat of the Week: Ladies who Shoot their Lunch Shiraz $35
Have a great weekend!

The aromas of roses & Turkish delight are Gewurz-like in intensity but there is the added minerality from the Riesling & some pear apparent too. The acid shows the fineness of the Riesling & keeps the blend fresh and in line along the long length. Being slightly off dry adds to the fullness & balance.
A really great wine for matching with Asian spices & some of those stickier sauces, but why not have a glass before dinner – just in anticipation.

If you are all tennissed out (not me she says!) & you are in Adelaide this weekend, put the Crush Festival in & around Adelaide Hills on the itinerary. Sydney Festival is wrapping up this weekend too. Get out of the house!

Rich with sweet black fruit, cedar, tobacco & spice. Elegantly bodied with a supple length, this is a wine that will accompany that roast rack of lamb that you are planning or perhaps a venison pie.
Leabrook have moved to the 2007 vintage now but there may be some 2006 still around the traps.

This Vermentino has a silkiness with a crispness with some great street appeal. The nutty peach & pear character is complemented by a fresh citrusy zing & a long fine finish. With its refreshing acid hit it is a natural companion to food, particularly with fish & seafood.

The pretty lime & lemon citrus has that vital nerve that you want to see in fine Clare Riesling with a slatey backbone. It is delicate & linear along the long palate with zingy acid that has poise & balance.

It is getting seriously Christmassy, more fizz please!
Rose: Taltarni Brut Tache Sparkling 09 $26
Red: Grant Burge Balthasar Shiraz Viognier 07 $38 (get it before it sells out)
Treat of the Week: Majella Sparkling Shiraz 06 $28
The elegance of this wine is enhanced further with the Viognier, wrapping warm spice & pepper notes around a soft berry fruit & floral core. The intensity is generous while the body is not overpowering & will not leave you with a feeling of regret if relish in the luxury of more than one glass. An ideal dinner partner for wild boar sausage & indulgently truffled mash.
