Chrismont La Zona Marzemino Frizzante NV
Another very interesting wine from Chrismont in the King Valley. There are very few producers of Marzemino in Australia but if you have a closer look at Chrismont’s wine portfolio, there are plenty of Italian surprises there and all worth seeking out. A lightly frizzante red with sweet cherry, rich berries, some supporting toast and vanilla spice characters – a lot jam packed into a gloriously rich ruby coloured wine. The generous palate finishes with a rich gamey aftertaste and the fizz is just there to give it a lift. Give it a try with some Italian cheeses.
